SINGAPORE: JEM shopping mall is expected to re-open this Wednesday after being closed for almost a fortnight.
In a post at its Facebook page on Monday morning, the mall's management said it will welcome shoppers and diners from 10am on Wednesday.
The mall at Jurong East was closed on September 19 after a water pipe burst.
The burst pipe had caused part of the ceiling on the first floor to collapse, injuring three people.
Tenants on Monday received notification of the reopening. Some said that they might not be able to open on Wednesday because of the short notice.
"We're prepared to spend the whole day to do preparations tomorrow, but if we are really not able to do so, we will have no choice but to sacrifice some of our operating hours. So, we will open later," said Laksania director Tay Su Yin.
In addition, tenants said Lend Lease has not spoken to them about any form of compensation for the loss of business during the closure.
