President Tony Tan extended JC George Wei Sze Shun's appointment for a further 12 months with effect from Aug 1, 2014.
SINGAPORE: Judicial Commissioner George Wei Sze Shun had his appointment extended by a year from Friday (Aug 1), according to the Supreme Court.
President Tony Tan Keng Yam, in accordance with Article 94(4) of the Constitution, extended Mr Wei's appointment, a year after the latter was appointed as a Judicial Commissioner, according to the Supreme Court's statement on Friday.
Mr Wei is an expert in intellectual property (IP) law in Singapore and was previously Professor of Law at the Singapore Management University (SMU). With his appointment, the Supreme Court will have a total of 14 Judges, including the Chief Justice, and four Judicial Commissioners, the Supreme Court said.
