Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will make an official visit to Mexico from May 16 to 20.
SINGAPORE: Foreign Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam will make an official visit to Mexico from May 16 to 20.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said this will be the first-ever stand-alone bilateral visit by a Singapore foreign minister.
During his visit, Mr Shanmugam will meet with Secretary of Foreign Affairs Jose Antonio Meade.
The MFA said Mr Shanmugam will also conduct the second round of bilateral political consultations between Singapore and Mexico, which started in Singapore in August 2013.
He will also meet with Secretary of Tourism Claudia Ruiz-Massieu Salinas.
Mr Shanmugam will deliver a lecture organised by the Mexican Diplomatic Academy, Instituto Matias Romero, on "Bridging the Pacific: The Singapore-Mexico Partnership" to the diplomatic community, business leaders, media representatives and private sector personalities.
Mr Shanmugam is expected to meet separately with Mexican business leaders and representatives from Singapore companies based in Mexico City.
