SINGAPORE: SINGAPORE: A 53-year-old man charged with the murder of a production technician was remanded another week for further investigations.
Chia Kee Chen appeared in court on Thursday after being charged on January 2.
He allegedly caused the death of 37-year-old Dexmon Chua Yizhi at a multi-storey carpark at Block 429A Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4.
The alleged murder happened between December 28 and 29.
Chia was represented by Mr Sunil Sudheesan, who requested that his client have access to counsel.
But this was not granted as investigations are ongoing.
Mr Sudheesan then requested limited access to Chia -- in the presence of the police prosecutor or the investigation officer to inform Chia of his rights -- but this was also turned down.
The prosecution instead said the investigators would inform Chia of the rights.
Chia had led the police to the body of Mr Chua at an area off Lim Chu Kang Road, near Sungei Gedong Camp.
Mr Chua's body was found in thick bushes with his hands bound.
The production technician had earlier been reported missing.
Chia will appear in court again on January 16.
Separately, police arrested a 64-year-old man on January 8, who is also believed to be involved in the case.
He will be charged in court on Friday with murder.
The police are also looking for an Indonesian man, Djatmiko Febri Irwansyah, in connection with the case.
