LTA calls for tender for private operators to run six Peak Period Short Services

The Land Transport Authority has called for a tender to invite private bus operators to submit their proposals to operate six Peak Period Short Services (PPSS) in Ang Mo Kio, Clementi, Yishun, West Coast, Woodlands and Marsiling.

SINGAPORE: Residents in Ang Mo Kio, Clementi, Yishun, West Coast, Woodlands and Marsiling can expect more frequent bus connections to nearby MRT stations and bus interchanges during peak hours.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has called for a tender to invite private bus operators to submit their proposals to operate six Peak Period Short Services (PPSS) in these areas.

The services will complement existing feeder bus services by SBS Transit (services 265, 285) and SMRT (services 811, 812, 903, 913).

LTA said the services will provide commuters with additional five or more bus trips per hour during the weekday morning and evening peak periods.

This is expected to reduce waiting times, alleviate crowding and improve bus reliability.

This is the third tranche of PPSS tendered.

The PPSS is part of the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).
