SINGAPORE: Some 1,000 underprivileged families and elderly from the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Constituency gathered on Sunday evening to celebrate the coming Lunar New Year.

Organised by the Kreta Ayer-Kim Seng Citizens' Consultative Committee and supported by Select Group, the annual tradition featured a mass reunion dinner and Lo-Hei session with Dr Lily Neo who is the Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC.

Some 190 volunteers were involved in putting this grand feast together.

Dr Neo said: "We also want to introduce our culture and traditions with other minority group. If you look around, there are many families who are from different races… celebrating with us tonight.

"The reasons we want to share with them are what this is all about and to introduce to them our festivities and also our Chinese culture and traditions."
