SINGAPORE: Viewers in Singapore and Malaysia can look forward to a new Malay drama series entitled 'Kasih Berbisik' which means 'Whispers of the Heart'.

Filming locations include Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, and the drama series will feature an international cast including Malaysia's Nora Danish and Singapore's Hisyam Hamid.

A joint venture between Singapore's MediaCorp and Malaysia's Media Prima, the 13-episode co-production is slated to hit the small screens in the second half of 2014.

TV3, Media Prima's leading free-to-air (FTA) channel in Malaysia, and MediaCorp's Suria, Singapore's leading Malay language TV channel, will air the 13-episode drama series.

Doreen Neo, managing director of MediaCorp Studios, said: "We have had a long-standing working arrangement with Media Prima where we produce for them Chinese content, Chinese variety.

"So this is very timely, as we transcend our content and our capabilities from Chinese language to Malay language, and it's really harnessing the best of both worlds to put together this project, and I really hope this is a start of many more Malay projects to come."

Ahmad Izham Omar, group chief executive officer of television networks at Media Prima and chief executive officer of Primeworks Studios, said: "We always get inundated with Spanish telenovelas -- from Mexico, from the Philippines, from Thailand, even from Indonesia -- so why not have a Malay Singapore production that can also travel the world?"
