SINGAPORE: The MediShield Life Review Committee on Thursday (June 5) provided examples of how Singaporeans could benefit from proposed enhancements to the existing MediShield scheme.

Someone who suffers a brain haemorrhage and has a stroke and requires hospitalisation for 14 days - including four in intensive care - will pay a quarter of his bill out of pocket, compared to nearly half under MediShield.

Someone who requires four cycles of outpatient chemotherapy for cancer could end up paying 63 per cent out of pocket less than they would under the current scheme:
