SINGAPORE: Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) says it welcomes the progress made thus far in negotiations between world powers and Iran in Vienna on the latter’s nuclear programme.

"We continue to support negotiations as the best path to resolve this complex issue," an MFA spokesman said in a statement responding to media queries on the matter.

"We urge Iran to use the positive momentum generated by the Joint Plan of Action to come to a comprehensive agreement with the P5+1 that will address the concerns of the international community over the nature of Iran’s nuclear programme."

The spokesman adds that a timely resolution of all outstanding issues is in the interest of Iran, its immediate region and the international community.
