N95 masks distributed to elderly at AWWA

Volunteers from Singapore Power distributed N95 masks to 139 residents at the Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) Community Home for Senior Citizens on Thursday.

SINGAPORE: Volunteers from Singapore Power distributed N95 masks to 139 residents at the Asian Women's Welfare Association (AWWA) Community Home for Senior Citizens on Thursday.

The move was part of an outreach programme by the energy and utility company in partnership with Temasek Cares, which aims to help build resilience in Singapore.

AWWA is one of 140 charity homes in the “Stay Prepared” initiative.

A total of 17,000 starter kits will be distributed to homes by the end of the month.

The starter kit also contains information on how to wear the masks correctly, and emergency contact numbers.

Besides charity homes, the kits will also be distributed to all registered addresses in Singapore.

The effort aims to encourage people to take steps towards being better prepared for situations such as severe haze or flu emergencies.
