SINGAPORE: The National Youth Council has issued a call for community partners to submit project proposals for Singapore's volunteer youth corps.
The corps is targeted at those aged 15 to 35, and is meant to encourage Singaporean students to continue serving the community after graduation.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced the setting up of the volunteer youth corps at the National Day Rally this year.
In a statement on Tuesday, the council said the proposed projects can be carried out locally or in a country in the region over three to six months. They should focus on any of the five areas -- education; health; arts, sports and heritage; special needs; environment.
More information is available at the council's online portal. Proposals can be submitted at the portal from Tuesday to January 30, 2014.
