NDP was most watched online overseas in Australia and the US

This year's National Day Parade also saw almost 15,000 hours of online videos delivered, according to Akamai Technologies, one of the parade's partners.

SINGAPORE: Close to 15,000 hours of online videos were delivered to viewers via the National Day Parade website and mobile app and, outside Singapore, these videos were most viewed by people in Australia and United States, according to parade partner Akamai Technologies.

The company said in its statement on Friday (Aug 15) that the NDP 2014 Executive Committee had introduced richer content on both the website and mobile app, featuring access to live and on-demand behind-the-scenes events related to NDP.

Besides the live streaming of the parade, other content that were delivered online ranged from interviews with the performers to features on military vehicles like the Light Strike Vehicle Mark II, which were on display during the parade, it added.

Singapore viewers consumed the most NDP-related online content, followed by those from Australia, US, Malaysia and China.

"The National Day Parade is never short of memorable moments and we were delighted to be able to provide a consistent and high-quality viewing experience for the viewers on any device, anywhere," said Mr Rick Lanman, Akamai's Regional Manager for ASEAN.
