SINGAPORE: The Singapore Contractors Association Limited (SCAL) has launched a new scheme to encourage roof work safety.
Called the RoofSAFE Contractor Scheme, it recognises companies that have put in place measures to ensure the safety of their workers carrying out work on roofs.
Executive Director of Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) Lai Poon Piau announced this on Monday at a work safety forum.
He said companies certified under the scheme will gain an edge over their competitors.
That is because they will be viewed as preferred contractors that can comply with WSH requirements that their clients need to observe.
