The local varsity bagged this year's Golden World Awards for "Excellence in Public Relations - Corporate Communications", handed out by the International Public Relations Association.
SINGAPORE: The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was recognised for its excellence in communications by non-profit organisation International Public Relations Association (IPRA) for the second year running.
In a statement on Monday (Aug 11), NTU said it was given the Golden World Awards for "Excellence in Public Relations - Corporate Communications". This was in addition to last year's win in the "Publications" category for the university's bi-monthly magazine HEY!, it said.
Commenting on NTU's win, Mr Stephen Forshaw, President of the Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS), said: "In an increasingly connected world, international competitions allow participating organisations to benchmark their communication programmes with some of the best in the world.
"NTU has reinforced Singapore’s reputation for excellent communication campaigns, winning various prestigious awards in the US, in Europe and in Asia in the last year.”
Thie university has received 12 international awards for communication excellence since last October, including the Gold Quill Excellence Award for brand communication by the International Association of Business Communicators in June this year.
