The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) has appointed Patrick Tay Teck Guan, Yeo Guat Kwang, Ang Hin Kee and Zainal Sapari as new assistant secretaries-general.
SINGAPORE: The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) has appointed four new assistant secretaries-general.
They are Patrick Tay Teck Guan, Yeo Guat Kwang, Ang Hin Kee and Zainal Sapari. Their appointments will take effect on February 1, 2014.
In a statement on Wednesday, NTUC Secretary-General Lim Swee Say said the four new appointees have contributed much to the growth of the labour movement.
Mr Lim added, "Their appointments will strengthen the leadership team at NTUC, and help mobilise the ground towards making worker a better worker, and every job a better job for the benefit of all."
The statement said Mr Patrick Tay will look after professionals, managers and executives (PMEs) and legal services while Mr Yeo Guat Kwang will oversee migrant workers and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) outreach.
Mr Ang Hin Kee will look after freelancers and the self-employed while Mr Zainal Sapari will oversee matters related to low-wage workers, and the Care and Share scheme.
The four new assistant secretaries-general will join Deputy Secretary-General Heng Chee How and Assistant Secretary-General Cham Hui Fong in the NTUC Secretariat.
