NYP to offer Specialist Diploma in business and big data analytics

The new diploma will equip working professionals with domain knowledge and IT capabilities to solve complex business problems, says Nanyang Polytechnic.

SINGAPORE: Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) will offer a new Specialist Diploma in Business and Big Data Analytics from October this year. In a statement on Friday (Aug 22), the institution said the course targets graduates and working professionals. It says the diploma will equip them with both domain knowledge and IT capabilities to define and solve complex business problems.

"Big data analytics is fast becoming a widely adopted business practice. This course will offer industry practitioners a robust curriculum that prepares them as strategists to take on the changes and challenges brought by the rapidly growing industry, said NYP Course Manager Ang Kian Keong.

"They will be able to hone their skills in advanced data analytical techniques, apply analytics across industries and business domains, and develop competence in implementing infrastructure to support big data," Mr Ang said.

NYP already has continuing education and training (CET) programmes in information security and mobile computing.

To be awarded the Specialist Diploma, course participants would have to complete two out of three available Post-Diploma Certificates in either Business Analytics, Big Data Analytics or Big Data Management.
