SINGAPORE: A woman in her 40s was arrested on Saturday for using abusive language and voluntarily causing hurt to a police officer following a dispute with her neighbour.
The neighbour -- 65-year-old Madam Toh Siew Hong -- was sent to Changi General Hospital with injuries.
Police said they were called to the scene at Block 10, Chai Chee Road around 10.15am.
CCTV footage showed the two women trading blows at the lift landing area.
The video clip, which has gone viral, showed Madam Toh delivering a slap to the other woman's face.
The other woman then slapped and punched Madam Toh repeatedly, and at one point, continued to kick her even after she had fallen to the ground.
Madam Toh's family also claimed that the woman had hit her with an object.
The footage came from a CCTV camera which the family had installed outside their flat.
They claimed Madam Toh had been repeatedly harassed by the woman since the beginning of this month.
Madam Toh's daughter, who did not want to be named, said that the woman moved into the flat opposite theirs only in January this year.
Madam Toh suffered facial injuries and has been hospitalised following the incident.
Her family said they have not decided what they will do after Madam Toh is discharged from hospital, but added they are worried about their mother's safety.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
