The president, along with Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, mingled with the officers during the reception.

Public Service Week aims to recognise the good work of public officers and agencies.

The officers at the event were from the Singapore Public Service, and they included some 32 Long Service Medallists and 108 PS21 Star Service Awardees.

The Singapore Public Service employs some 139,000 public officers working in 16 ministries and more than 50 statutory boards.

Public Service Week will conclude on Sunday.

The annual event was launched in 2008 and aims to remind public officers of the important role they play in nation-building and the need for them to serve with dedication and commitment.
