SINGAPORE: President Tony Tan Keng Yam visited a children's exhibition called 'Once Upon a Time in Asia: The Story Tree' at the Asian Civilisations Museum on Tuesday as part of his community engagement programme.

President Tony Tan joined the children at a story telling session.

They also made trees from paper cut-outs.

He also viewed an unusual creation by Beijing-based artist Li Hongbo which is made from thousands of sheets of paper.

"It is important to encourage children to come to museums and to learn about our history, our heritage, our arts, and to instil in them this museum-going culture," said Dr Tan. "After all, our children are going to be our youths, they're going to determine Singapore's future."
