Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam will meet with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday (June 5) to have a general exchange of views on regional and international developments.
SINGAPORE: President Tony Tan Keng Yam will be visiting Batam, Indonesia, on Thursday (June 5) at the invitation of his Indonesian counterpart, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on Wednesday that Dr Tan will be meeting Dr Yudhoyono to keep up their longstanding friendship and to have a general exchange of views on regional and international developments. He will also attend a dinner hosted by Dr Yudhoyono.
The informal gathering was proposed by Dr Yudhoyono when the leaders met in April in 2013.
Besides the meeting with Dr Yudhoyono, Dr Tan will also attend a tea session with a group of Singaporeans in Batam.
Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew and officials from the MFA and Ministry of Trade and Industry will accompany the President on his trip.
