Read Bridge lights up for the festive season

Motion sensors and microphones along the Read Bridge, when triggered, will activate more than 200 acrylic light tubes along the bridge to shine with varying brightness and colours.

SINGAPORE: The Read Bridge at Clarke Quay on Friday (Dec 4) welcomed the festive season with a grand light-up.

Titled RIBbon, the interactive installation has more than 200 acrylic light tubes that encase the bridge in a human-like rib cage from Friday to Jan 3.

Lined with motion sensors and microphones, the lights pulsate according to the festive music of the Singapore River, and glow as it detect pedestrian movement along the bridge.

Clarke Quay has also prepared a host of activities leading up to Christmas, including a free outdoor performance at the Fountain Square by Irish band, The Coronas, next week (Dec 9).

You can catch the light-up from now until Jan 3, 2016.
