SINGAPORE: A few hundred residents from Chua Chu Kang, Bukit Batok and Jurong West gathered to break fast together at Nanyang Community Club on Saturday evening (July 12) as Muslims around the world observe the fasting month of Ramadan.

Along with traditional Malay food, another highlight of the evening was a performance of qasidah -- a form of Arabian lyric poetry.
