Several roads and lanes in the CBD area will be closed to traffic this Saturday from 10am to 11.30pm.
SINGAPORE: The police have issued an advisory on several road closures for the National Day Parade rehearsal this Saturday (July 5).
In a statement on Thursday, the police said the following lanes and roads will be closed to traffic from 10am to 11.30pm: Republic Boulevard (towards Raffles Avenue), Raffles Avenue (towards Esplanade Drive), and the two extreme left lanes of Raffles Avenue (between Temasek Avenue and Esplanade Mall).
One extreme left lane of Raffles Avenue (between Esplanade Mall and Esplanade Drive) will also be closed between 7pm and 10.30pm that day.
Public bus services affected by the road closures will be diverted, the police said.
Traffic delays are expected along Raffles Boulevard, Raffles Avenue, Republic Avenue, Bras Basah Road, Nicoll Highway and Bayfront Avenue. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas, police added.
Motorists proceeding to Suntec City and Marina Square from Crawford Street and Ophir Road are advised to use an alternative route via Nicoll Highway or Beach Road, or opt for public transport.
Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced, the statement said, adding that vehicles found parking indiscriminately or causing obstruction will be towed away.
