SINGAPORE: Singapore and Brunei police have renewed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation in areas such as combating transnational crime.

First signed in 2006 and renewed in 2009, the latest extension of the MOU is a strong testimony of the close relationship between the two forces, the Singapore Police Force said in a statement.

Cooperation between both forces is expected to be further enhanced in the areas of information sharing, capacity building, professional development and training.

Commissioner of Police Ng Joo Hee signed the renewal of the MOU with the Royal Brunei Police Force's Police Commissioner Pahlawan Bahrin Mohd Noor on Tuesday.
