S'porean found dead in JB hotel room

62-year-old Singaporean Lee Chiang Yong was on Tuesday found dead in a hotel room in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

JOHOR BAHRU: A Singaporean man was on Tuesday found dead in a hotel room in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

South Johor Bahru district police chief Sulaiman Salleh said 62-year-old Lee Chiang Yong was found unconscious in his hotel room by an employee on duty at about 1.37pm on Tuesday.

An examination carried out in the ambulance revealed that the man had died, he said in a statement.

Police found no injury or any trace of criminal element on the deceased, who had just checked into the hotel in Jalan Wong Ah Fook on Tuesday.

"The body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for post mortem and the Singapore Consulate here has been informed to trace his next-of-kin," said Sulaiman.
