SINGAPORE: An engagement session with some 200 residents in Jurong East was held on Saturday to explain the Pioneer Generation Package in a more interactive manner, such as using quizzes.

The aim was to give residents a clearer understanding of the package.

The event, organised by Yuhua Grassroots Organisation and Jurong East Street 31 Shop-Proprietors and Hawkers Association, also gave seniors the chance to ask questions about the package.

The session catered to the non-English speaking group, with many questions asked in dialect.

The initiative is part of efforts to enhance outreach to residents.

The session was also organised in a fun and casual ambience to encourage more residents to take part.

MP for Yuhua and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Grace Fu said: "The quizzes will require them to think about it and make special effort to remember some of the details.

"It also allows us to interact with one another better, so instead of a passive dialogue, quizzes allow interaction and I think from our experience it allows for better retention of information."
