Singapore leaders go to Brunei for Hari Raya visit

Singapore's leaders and their spouses were in Brunei Darussalam for the annual Hari Raya visit from July 29 to August 2, 2014.

SINGAPORE: Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli, Minister of State for National Development and Defence Dr Maliki Osman, and Minister of State for Education and Communications & Information Sim Ann, together with their spouses, were in Brunei Darussalam for the annual Hari Raya visit from July 29 to August 2, 2014.

On Wednesday (July 30), Mr Masagos and the delegation visited the Istana Nurul Iman. He conveyed the Hari Raya wishes of Singapore's leaders to the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah. Mr Masagos also affirmed the warm and abiding friendship between Singapore and Brunei.

Over the past three days, Mr Masagos and the delegation attended the Hari Raya open houses of Minister of Home Affairs Badaruddin Othman and other Bruneian ministers, deputy ministers and leaders.

They also called on Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Lim Jock Seng.

Mr Masagos and the delegation also hosted a National Day get-together for Singaporeans in Brunei.
