SINGAPORE: The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s (RSAF) F-15SG fighter jets were officially declared battle-ready by Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen on Wednesday.
The planes entered the military in May 2009, with operators working to blend them into RSAF operations since then.
The jets are equipped with state-of-the-art computer systems and will help sharpen Singapore's edge in defence in the skies.
They have undergone testing in major overseas exercises, demonstrating superior firepower and combat endurance.
Together with the RSAF's other defence capabilities, Singapore is able to respond to a spectrum of threats to keep local airspace secure.
Dr Ng said: "The RSAF has achieved much because of steady and prudent investments in carefully chosen advanced technologies and state-of-art platforms which are suited for our defence needs.
“More importantly, the men and women of the RSAF have kept pace with changing technology and mastered each new platform."
