A Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson called for quick delivery of humanitarian relief to people of Gaza, and urged Palestinians and Israelis to have further negotiations for 'durable peace'.
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Government welcomes the agreement for an open-ended ceasefire in Gaza, brokered by the Egypt. The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took hold on Tuesday (Aug 26), after a 50-day war.
A statement from a Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said: "We urge all sides to comply fully with the ceasefire agreement so as to stop the cycle of violence. We hope that the cessation of hostilities would allow for humanitarian relief to be delivered quickly and pave the way for further negotiations towards a durable peace."
Israel has promised to ease restrictions at two crossings into Gaza to allow the entry of goods, aid and construction materials.
