SINGAPORE: Parliamentary Secretary for Health Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said he's happy that Singaporeans recognise the need for a healthy lifestyle.

This is despite greater financing for healthcare costs through MediShield Life.

He said: "We have rolled out the healthy living masterplan. People are starting to reap the values, the concept of the healthy living masterplan. Together with the healthy lifestyle and MediShield Life, we will be able to manage health issues in Singapore better, as we live longer together as a society."

Dr Faishal was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Nee Soon Community Sports Festival on Sunday morning.

Some 2,500 residents took part in the festival.

Dr Faishal added that Singaporeans he has spoken to have responded positively to MediShield Life and are particularly happy about the universal and life-time coverage that will come with the scheme.
