Police seized computers and more than S$1,800 cash from a suspected gambling den in a Balestier residence.
SINGAPORE: Six people have been arrested in connection with an illegal gambling den in Balestier. The suspects, aged between 46 and 76 were picked up in a five-hour operation which started at 10pm on Thursday (July 10). Officers from the Special Operations Command were involved in the bust as well.
Police seized 19 modified computers and more than S$1,800 cash from the den in a two-storey residential building.
Those found guilty of managing an illegal gambling den could be jailed for up to three years, while those convicted of illegal gaming in such dens face up to six months' imprisonment.
Police say people who allow others to use their premises for illegal gambling could also face jail time of up to three years.
