SINGAPORE: With the Lunar New Year around the corner, some restaurants are already fully booked for reunion dinners.
To keep up with demand, restaurants like Peony Jade Restaurant are offering takeaway packages with free dishes thrown in, such as roast duck and 'yu sheng'.
Bookings for the packages have increased by 10 per cent compared with last year.
To spread out the crowd, restaurants are encouraging customers to go for reunion lunches instead.
Robert Han, group general manager for The Quayside Group, said: "And (for) lunch we are promoting with a 15 per cent discount, with free flow of soft drinks and Chinese tea to encourage our loyal diners who are not able to get booking for dinner to consider it as an option."
