SINGAPORE: People with special needs got a taste of dragon boating at Jurong Lake on Sunday afternoon. They took part in a race which was aimed at encouraging interaction between able-bodied people and those with special needs.
Among the more than 300 people were some 20 beneficiaries from four special needs groups: Singapore Disability Sports Council, Special Olympics, Delta Senior School and Christian Outreach to the Handicapped.
They were joined by Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Grace Fu, who is also the MP for Yuhua. "Whether you have any abilities or disabilities it doesn't matter," said Ms Fu. "It is a time for us to all come together and have great fun on the water."
The event was organised by the People's Association Water-Venture and the Nanyang Technological University's Welfare Services Club.
