The Singapore Union of Broadcasting Employees on Wednesday hosted 45 cleaners at MediaCorp for lunch to recognise their contribution.
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Union of Broadcasting Employees (SUBE) showed its appreciation to the contribution of cleaners by hosting them to lunch on Wednesday.
The treat was in recognition of their work as part of International Cleaners Day on June 16.
Forty-five cleaners at MediaCorp enjoyed a good spread of food at the staff canteen, along with some light entertainment.
NTUC's Assistant Secretary-General Cham Hui Fong helped to serve the cleaners.
The cleaners were also given a $50 voucher from organisers.
On June 16, the labour movement launched Appreciating U – a nationwide initiative to recognise the contributions of everyday workers.
For a start, NTUC will focus on the cleaning workforce.
