Two men were arrested near a jewellery store on Orchard Road for allegedly stealing a 3.46 carat diamond ring, worth more than S$260,000.
SINGAPORE: Two suspected diamond thieves have been arrested. They allegedly stole a 3.46 carat diamond ring worth more than S$260,000 from a jewellery store on Orchard Road on Thursday (July 3).
Police said in a news release on Friday that someone working in the store activated the panic alarm at 2:46pm the day before, when the diamond ring was found to be missing.
The two men were caught near the store. They are both Chinese nationals, aged 48. They will be charged in the State Courts on Saturday, and if convicted, face up to seven years' jail.
