SINGAPORE: The day got off to a festive start for residents at the Sunshine Welfare Action Mission (SWAMI) Home in Sembawang.

They received mandarin oranges and red packets on Saturday morning from National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan.

The visit to the home is an annual affair for Mr Khaw and grassroots leaders from Sembawang GRC to ensure the residents know they have not been forgotten during the Lunar New Year celebrations.

SWAMI Home provides nursing care and shelter to the sick, elderly, and handicapped from low-income backgrounds.
