Road blocks and security checks at and around Shangri-La Hotel will be carried out due to the International Institute Of Strategic Studies (IISS) Asia Security Summit starting this Friday (May 30).
SINGAPORE: Motorists are advised to avoid the roads leading to and surrounding Shangri-La Hotel this weekend, particularly Anderson Road and Orange Grove Road, the Police said in a statement released on Wednesday (May 28).
This is because security checks and road blocks will be carried out due to the International Institute Of Strategic Studies (IISS) Asia Security Summit, which will be held from Friday to Sunday at the hotel.
Motorists are advised to use Scotts Road if they are proceeding to:
(a) Stevens Road from Tanglin Road; or
(b) Orchard Road from Stevens Road; or
(c) Balmoral Road
Entry of commercial vehicles into Anderson Road will also be restricted, and drivers of these vehicles are advised to proceed to Shangri-La Hotel using Ardmore Park via Draycott Drive or Draycott Park.
Additionally, vehicular traffic along Ardmore Park in the direction of Draycott Drive (between Anderson Road and Ardmore II Condominium) shall be reversed, from 8pm on Thursday to 8pm on Sunday. Vehicles will not be allowed to turn into Ardmore Park from Anderson Road, the Police said.
