SINGAPORE: A woman in her 60s has suffered first-degree burns in a fire at a Punggol East flat on Monday morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said the fire took place in a unit on the 17th floor, and was extinguished within 10 minutes.
The woman was sent to the Singapore General Hospital and a four-year-old boy was also rescued and sent to KK Women's and Children's Hospital for smoke inhalation.
The fire was confined to one of the bedrooms in the flat, but residents living on the floor above and below the affected unit were evacuated as a safety measure.
