The 86cm-long war relic was safely disposed of by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, the Singapore Army said in a Facebook post.
SINGAPORE: A suspected war relic was found at a construction site in the western part of Singapore on Tuesday morning (July 29), the Singapore Army said on its Facebook page on Wednesday.
The 86cm-long war relic was a 107mm calibre round that was fused and fired, according to the Facebook post. The Army added that the protective cap was missing and the striker head was exposed – making the round extremely dangerous to handle.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal standby team was activated upon the finding, and the round was safely disposed of on site by the team on Tuesday evening.
