'Young leaders' bring cheer to senior activity centre

Twenty international students in Singapore for the Hwa Chong Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Summit visited the Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centre in Clementi on Saturday.

SINGAPORE: Eighty 'young leaders' from 13 countries are in Singapore for an annual summit, and earlier this week, they had taken part in a television and radio workshop at MediaCorp.

MediaCorp is participating in the Hwa Chong Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Summit which ends July 22, for the seventh time.

On Saturday (July 19), 20 of the students visited the Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centre in Clementi. The visit is organised by MediaCorp Cares as part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

The students joined MediaCorp staff and members of the public in bringing cheer to the senior citizens at the centre. They started with a morning workout followed by performances and games.

Volunteers rounded off the visit by serving lunch to the senior citizens.
