On Tuesday (Sep 9), questions raised in Parliament included the Vehicle Entry Permit fees for foreign-registered cars and toll charges, dengue vaccine, GST Vouchers and ERP rates. The House then continued its debate on the ASPIRE report, ending the session by passing its recommendations.

Much effort is needed to nurture constructive politics: MP Low Thia Khiang

Much effort is needed to nurture constructive politics in mature democracies, said Aljunied GRC MP Low Thia Khiang. He said constructive politics does not happen "by the order of the government", nor does it happen through a national conversation or public consultation. Mr Low added that if people continue to support a political party that uses "high-handed" tactics against its political opponents, a "bullying" political culture is being endorsed. He also cautioned against building a self-serving political culture.
