SINGAPORE: Team Singapore made a triumphant return home on Tuesday, having bagged 26 medals at the ASEAN Para Games in Myanmar.

Golden hat-trick hero Theresa Goh and Singapore's cerebral palsy football team were part of the contingent returning home.

Family and friends as well as Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin welcomed the athletes at Changi Airport.

The contingent finished with seven gold, 10 silver and nine bronze.

Singapore placed seventh among 10 countries on the final medal tally. Indonesia topped the medal tally with 89 gold.

Goh, who won three gold medals in swimming, delivered an impressive performance in Myanmar.

She beat a meet record and posted a season best at the Games.

"I've always gone for competitions to do my best, so whenever I have a chance to come back with medals, it's definitely something that makes me very proud and it makes me feel very honoured to be able to represent my country and bring glory back for them," said Goh.
