Singapore diver Mark Lee's participation in the upcoming Asian Games is in doubt after he was injured during a training accident on Saturday (Aug 30) morning.

SINGAPORE: Singapore diver Mark Lee's participation in the upcoming Asian Games is in doubt after he was injured during a training accident on Saturday (Aug 30) morning.

The 20-year-old hit his foot on the diving board during a dive at the Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. He was taken to hospital and received surgery in afternoon.

The Singapore Swimming Association (SSA) said it is monitoring the situation. Lee is due to compete in the 1-metre and 3-metre springboard events and the synchronised 3-metre springboard event.

At the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, Lee created history by winning Singapore's first diving medal since 1985 with a silver in the individual 3-metre springboard event. He also came in second in the synchronised 3-metre springboard and third in the synchronised platform events, together with his twin brother Timothy Lee.
