SINGAPORE: Singapore's Vincent Lim gave fans at home much to cheer about when he won the title at the 47th Singapore International Open on Saturday.
Lim defeated challenger Ahmad Muaz of Malaysia 207-175 in the stepladder finals to win his first-ever international open title.
Lim's team-mate Muhammad Jaris Goh finished third.
But in the women's competition, Singapore's Shayna Ng -- the 2013 AMF World Cup champion -- had to settle for second spot, losing out to defending champion Sin Li Jane of Malaysia.
