Commonwealth Games: Singapore swimmers off to good start

Singapore swimmers have got off to a good start in the pool on day one of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. 

GLASGOW: Day one of action from the Commonwealth Games saw Singapore swimmers getting off to a good start in the pool.

Joseph Schooling finished first in heat five of the 50m butterfly event. The 19-year old clocked 23.43secs to break the national record and book a spot in the semi-finals.

Tao Li also made it to the semi-finals in the women's 100m butterfly. Singapore's top female swimmer finished with a time of 59.22secs.
