Commonwealth Games: Singapore's Schooling qualifies for 50m butterfly final

Singapore's Joseph Schooling has qualified for his first final at the Commonwealth Games in the 50m butterfly event.

GLASGOW: Singapore's Joseph Schooling has qualified for his first final at the Commonwealth Games in the 50m butterfly event.

The 19-year-old swimmer finished fifth in the semi-finals on Friday morning, where he clocked 23.48secs, outside of his new national record mark of 23.43secs set earlier in the heats. His final is scheduled for 2am (Singapore time) on Saturday.

The teenager was in action again in the heats of the 4x100m freestyle relay. He was joined by Danny Yeo, Quah Zheng Wen and Clement Lim - the team are through to the finals with their time of 3 minutes 20.66 secs.
