Commonwealth Games: Singapore swimmers through to finals

Joseph Schooling has qualified for the finals in the 200m butterfly event at the swimming competition of this year's Commonwealth Games. He finished fifth out of 15 competitors with a time of 1:58.04 in the qualifying rounds.

SINGAPORE: Joseph Schooling has qualified for the finals in the 200m butterfly event at the swimming competition of this year's Commonwealth Games. He finished fifth out of 15 competitors with a time of 1:58.04 in the qualifying rounds.

He advances to the finals to be swum later on Saturday night (July 26).

On the women's side, Singapore also advanced to the finals of the 4x200m freestyle relay on Saturday night. The team comprising Amanda Lim, Lynette Lim, Nur Marina Chan and Quah Ting Wen finished eight out of nine teams in the heats, with their time of 8:25.18.
