SINGAPORE: The LionsXII bounced back from an opening day defeat in the Malaysia Super League by beating KL DRB HICOM 3-0 in the Malaysia FA Cup on Tuesday night.
Goals from Sufian Anuar, Gabriel Quak and Faris Ramli at the Bishan stadium helped secure Fandi Ahmad's first win as coach of the LionsXII.
Sufian, who rejoined the LionsXII after a season in the S-League with Warriors FC, was involved in all the goals.
The striker marked his first home appearance in his second stint with the club with a goal after 28 minutes. He bundled the ball home after a defensive mix-up in the KL DRB HICOM defence.
The LionsXII increased their lead after the break.
Sufian turned provider when he unselfishly squared the ball to an unmarked Gabriel Quak to ram home the team's second goal.
The LionsXII scored their third goal in injury time when Faris Ramli ran in unopposed to score from a tight angle after the KL DRB HICOM goalkeeper failed to hold on to Sufian's shot.
