SINGAPORE: An injury time goal by Khairul Amri against Selangor has given the LionsXII their first three points of the Malaysia Super League.
The Lions had a tentative start back at their fortress Jalan Besar Stadium where they were unbeaten for the whole of last season.
After a slow start, the game sprang to life near the end of the half.
Hafiz Sujad's effort struck the cross bar with the Selangor goalkeeper beaten.
Moments later, LionsXII defender Shakir Hamzah broke the deadlock just before halftime with a thumping header at the back post.
Selangor levelled in the 57th minute as the Lions' defence fell asleep at a corner. Midfielder Fitri Shazwan scored the equaliser after he was left unmarked in the penalty box.
However, the Lions roared back with virtually the last kick of the game as Khairul nodded home the winner with merely seconds left of the clock.
