A weakened LionsXII side loses 2-1 to Kelantan FA in the Malaysian Super League.
KOTA BHARU: The LionsXII lost 2-1 to Kelantan in their latest Malaysian Super League clash played earlier in Kota Bharu.
Kelantan opened the scoring after half an hour, with Fakri Saarani deftly finishing off a good move in the box by Wan Zaharulnizam.
The home team doubled their lead an the hour mark, Khairul Izuan Rosli following up after LionsXII goalkeeper Izwan Mahbud had saved his first attempt.
Faris Ramli gave the Singapore side hope with a goal in the 68th minute, sliding the ball pass Kelantan keeper Khairul Fahmie.
In the dying minutes, the visitors were denied an opportunity when Sufian Anuar was flagged offside in a 50-50 situation.
The loss kept the Lions XII rooted to the bottom half of the table, 8th of the 12-team league, with Selangor remaining on top.
